Operational draft: requires appropriate review and approval before publication.
This policy explains how Starboard handles personal information submitted through this website or used in connection with a basic inquiry. It also explains the difference between Starboard's inquiry process and an independent provider's later onboarding or KYC process.
Information we collect
A website inquiry may include a name, company or organisation, email address, telephone or WhatsApp details, current country or region, assistance sought, intended timing and a short description of the business requirement. If known, the visitor may also give a preferred jurisdiction. The website may also process limited technical information needed for security, session management, error diagnosis and reliable delivery.
Please do not submit passports, identity copies, proof of address, banking or payment credentials, tax identifiers, source-of-funds or source-of-wealth records, incorporation files or other sensitive or KYC documents through the website.
Why we use information
Starboard uses basic inquiry information to:
- review and respond to the request;
- clarify the business requirement;
- consider whether an introduction to a suitable independent provider may be appropriate;
- coordinate an introduction only after the visitor gives permission to share inquiry context with the prospective independent provider for that specific introduction;
- maintain necessary correspondence and business records; and
- protect, operate and improve the website.
The required acknowledgement on the inquiry form confirms that the visitor has read this policy. It permits Starboard to receive and use the basic inquiry information to review and respond to the request. It does not authorize provider sharing; as explained below, that requires separate permission for a specific introduction.
We limit use to these purposes and other purposes that are compatible with the context or explained when information is collected.
When information may be shared
Starboard shares the agreed inquiry context or other personal information with a prospective independent provider only after the visitor gives permission for that specific introduction. We aim to share only what is reasonably needed for the introduction.
Information may also be handled by service vendors that support website hosting, email delivery, security, maintenance or other business operations. Those vendors act for operational purposes rather than as the professional provider for the inquiry.
Starboard may disclose information where reasonably necessary to comply with a binding legal requirement, protect rights or security, investigate misuse, or establish and defend legal claims.
Independent provider onboarding and KYC
An independent provider has its own acceptance, privacy, security, record-retention and KYC responsibilities. If a provider requests identity or onboarding records, it should explain its requirements and supply an appropriate secure route. Information sent directly to that provider is handled under its terms and privacy practices, not this website inquiry policy.
International handling
Starboard, its service vendors and an introduced provider may operate or store information in different countries. Privacy and access rules may differ between locations. Where information is handled internationally, Starboard takes reasonable steps appropriate to the relationship and the information involved. A provider is responsible for explaining its own international handling where applicable.
Security and retention
Starboard uses reasonable administrative and technical measures intended to protect inquiry information. No website, email system or transmission method can promise absolute security. Visitors should therefore keep the first inquiry brief and omit sensitive records.
We retain inquiry information only for as long as reasonably needed for the inquiry, coordination, normal business records, security, dispute handling or applicable obligations. Retention may vary with the nature of the contact and whether a professional introduction proceeds.
Your choices and requests
Depending on the circumstances and applicable rules, a person may ask to access, correct or delete personal information, object to or limit some uses, withdraw consent where consent is the basis for use, or ask questions about handling. Some requests may be limited by record-keeping needs, legal claims, security requirements or other obligations.
Use the site's contact route to make a privacy request. Starboard may need to confirm enough information to identify the requester and the relevant record, but will not ask for unnecessary identity documents through the public inquiry form.
Cookies and website controls
The Cookie Notice explains the site's intended use of essential and functional cookies. Browser settings can be used to limit cookies, although some site functions may then work differently.
Changes and contact
Starboard may update this policy when website practices or operational needs change. The current version will appear on this page with its last-updated date.
Questions or requests may be submitted through Discuss Your Plans. Do not include sensitive or KYC documents in that message.
