Operational draft: requires appropriate review and approval before publication.
These terms apply to use of the Starboard website. By using the site, a visitor agrees to use it lawfully and in a way that respects the rights and security of others. If a visitor does not agree, they should stop using the site.
General information only
Website content is general information, not advice. It is not legal, tax, accounting, compliance, financial, investment or other professional guidance. It is not a recommendation of a location, entity structure, transaction or course of action. Visitors should obtain advice from an appropriately engaged independent professional who has reviewed their circumstances.
Content may become incomplete or out of date. A visitor should not rely on the website to meet a filing date, transaction deadline, eligibility requirement or other obligation.
Starboard's role
Starboard is a coordinator and introducer. It helps clarify an inquiry, identify a potentially suitable independent provider and support the initial handoff. Starboard does not perform the professional services discussed on the website.
Independent providers control their own acceptance, onboarding, KYC, conflicts checks, advice, scope, engagement terms, pricing, timing and delivery. Each provider is separate from Starboard and remains responsible for its professional judgment and work.
No relationship created by the website
Browsing the site, sending an inquiry or receiving an introduction does not create a professional, advisory, fiduciary or client relationship with Starboard. It also does not create an engagement with an independent provider.
A provider relationship begins only if the provider and client complete the provider's acceptance process and agree to its engagement terms. Those engagement terms prevail for the provider's accepted work.
Inquiries and sensitive information
The inquiry route is for basic information. Visitors must not send passport or identity copies, proof of address, banking or payment credentials, tax identifiers, source-of-funds or source-of-wealth records, incorporation files or other sensitive or KYC documents through the public website.
An independent provider that needs such records should supply its own appropriate secure onboarding route.
Availability and outcomes
Starboard does not promise that a provider will be available, accept a matter, complete work within a requested period or achieve a particular outcome. Access to the website may be interrupted for maintenance, security, technical faults or matters outside reasonable control.
Starboard may change, suspend or withdraw website content or features when reasonably necessary. It does not promise that every page will always be error free or available.
Intellectual property
Unless otherwise stated, website text, design elements, branding and original materials belong to Starboard or are used with permission. Visitors may view and print reasonable extracts for personal or internal business reference. They may not copy, republish, sell, alter or use the materials to suggest endorsement without prior permission.
Names, marks and materials belonging to others remain the property of their respective owners.
Acceptable use
Visitors must not misuse the site, attempt unauthorised access, interfere with operation or security, introduce malicious code, harvest information, impersonate another person, submit unlawful material or use automated methods that place an unreasonable burden on the site.
Starboard may restrict access where reasonably necessary to protect the site, its users or its systems.
Third-party links
The website may link to independent provider or other third-party sites for convenience. Starboard does not control those sites and is not responsible for their content, availability, security, privacy practices or terms. A link does not by itself amount to endorsement. Visitors should review the third party's own information before using its site or services.
Responsibility and liability
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits responsibility that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Subject to that qualification, Starboard is not responsible for loss arising solely from reliance on general website content, an unavailable site, a visitor's misuse of the site, or the acts, omissions or professional judgment of an independent provider.
Any limitation must be read as applying only to the extent permitted under the rules that apply in the circumstances. These terms do not attempt to choose a governing law or court for every visitor.
Changes and contact
Starboard may revise these terms to reflect website or operational changes. The current version and last-updated date will appear on this page. Continued use after an update means the visitor uses the site under the revised terms.
Questions about these terms may be sent through Discuss Your Plans. Do not include sensitive or KYC documents.
